El Paso TX Celebrates Its Alianza 5v5 Champions

This weekend, El Paso, Texas, witnessed thrilling matchups during the eighth date of the Alianza de Futbol circuit, culminating the 2023 Tour with new champions in the lightning 5v5 tournament.

The event, considered the most significant five-a-side tournament for the Hispanic community in the United States, saw an attendance of 10,847 fans on its closing day. A total of 160 players, distributed among 34 teams and categories ranging from U8 to U18, offered a high-level soccer spectacle.

The championships were distributed as follows:

  • U8: Barcelona West del Río imposed itself with a resounding 7-3 over Fenix FC.
  • U10: Barcelonasa Elite won 1-0 against Soles FC.
  • U12: Indians claimed the title after a 2-1 victory over Fenix FC.
  • U14: Alvarado FC showcased its superiority by thrashing Lyons FC 5-1.
  • U16: In an extended match, Atletic Club overcame South Side Tronkos 2-0 after a 2-2 draw in regular time.
  • U18: Galactic FC was crowned after a thrilling penalty shootout 4-3 against Atlas, after tying 1-1.


These championships leave an indelible mark on Alianza's history, a tournament that not only celebrates the passion for soccer but also highlights Hispanic culture and tradition, awarding trophies that will surely occupy a special place in each champion team's showcase.
