In the third leg of the 2023 Alianza de Futbol Tour, held in Houston, the third champions of the Ford Copita Alianza were also crowned in different categories. The competition was a resounding success and featured the participation of 128 teams, totaling 1,890 participants including boys and girls in the various age groups.
In the U7 category, Raptors FC emerged as champions by defeating AC Santos McAllen 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regular time. In the U9 category, Houston All Stars claimed the title by defeating The ACDMY 5-2. Meanwhile, The ACDMY, which also had a team in the U11 category, became champions by defeating Imperial FC 3-0. In the U13 category, ATX FC was crowned champions by thrashing Quest YSC 7-0.
In the U15 girls' category, 11 Star was crowned champions by defeating The ACDMY 3-0. In the U17 category, there was no official champion due to the disqualification of Horizon and Pachuca RGV teams. This category had 414 participants from 23 teams. In the U18 girls' category, ETX Threat claimed the title by defeating Soccer Centro 6-5 in a penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regular time. Finally, in the U19 category, Nacogdoches FC emerged victorious with a 4-3 win over East FC in the final.
The event featured various off-field activities, including the presence of professional football figures such as Omar Bravo, a historic forward for Chivas de Guadalajara and the all-time leading scorer in Liga MX history, as well as María Sánchez, a Mexican-American footballer from the Houston Dash in the NSWL and the Mexican National Team.
The Ford Copita Alianza and Alianza de Futbol Tour 2023 will continue their journey and move to the state of Illinois, specifically to the Stuart Sports Complex in Chicago, where thousands of emotions are expected on July 22nd and 23rd.
