With 420 players registered, the event not only surpassed last year's record by 100 players, it also positioned itself at the moment, as the city that has registered the most participants so far of the 2022 Alianza de Futbol tour

The Verizon Copa Alianza presentation in San José was a resounding success. The competition had 21 teams distributed in 7 groups, which were classified in the regular phase to the direct elimination keys, to later define the grand final.

CTS FC was crowned the local champion in the most important amateur soccer competition in the country, after defeating HAYWARD-HONDURAS 4-3 on penalties, and together with the runner-up team, secured a place in the Verizon Copa Alianza Nacional Finals.

Both teams will face the two finalists, by city, from the 2022 tour, and will compete for $50,000 dollars, the largest prize pool in amateur futbol tournament in the United States.

With their visit to San Jose, Verizon Copa Alianza and Alianza de Futbol head to their eighth date in El Paso, Texas, September 10-11.
