Suspense finals and more than 2,000 football players in Houston

Houston became a historic city for Alianza de Fútbol as it was the venue with the highest number of teams registered in a weekend: 216, of which 140 participated in Ford Copita Alianza, that number represents 65% of the total.

Undoubtedly one of the key pieces for this new record. Ford Copita Alianza has fulfilled all the objectives on the fourth date of the 2022 Alianza de Futbol tour.

With cardiac arrest, the attendance of 2,016 players, and the presence of one of the most recognized legends of Mexican futbol: Luis ‘Matador’ Hernández, as a special guest of the event.

The biggest children’s and youth tournament in the country became one of the main protagonists at the ‘Bear Creek Pionners Park’.

The finals in all categories were full of emotion, to mention enough only 2 of them were defined by a difference of 2 goals, 5 by only 1 and 2 more tied in regular time to finalize everything at penalty shootout. These are the Houston champions in all Ford Copita Alianza categories:


- U7: Brownsville Elite (2-1)

- U9: Houston All Star 2013 (5-2)

- U11: La Selección (1-0)

- U13: Arsenal Elite (empate a 3 en tiempo rregula, 5-4 en penales)

- Girls U14: Houstonians (1-0)

- U15: Super Campeones (3-1)

- Girls U16: Houstonians (1-0)

- U17: Genesis FC (1-0)

- U19: Texas International (empate a ceros en tiempo regular 5-4 en penales)

All the teams that played in the finals received uniforms, a ball and medals; the champions, as is now a tradition, took the iconic trophy home. In addition, the teams that were crowned in the U13, U15, U17 and U19 categories got their ticket to the Ford Copita Alianza National Finals, the Hispanic national tournament for the champions of each city of the 2022 tour.
