Alianza de Futbol looks up in Chicago

In presence for more than 26,000 attendees, a number that represents the second best affluence so far this season, Alianza de Futbol consolidates its presence for the futbol fans in Chicago, the first city on the east coast of the country to hold the 2022 tour.

1,668 players and 110 teams arrived at the 'Stuart Sports Complex' this weekend to play the different Alianza de Futbol tournaments, the largest tour for the Hispanic community in America.

One of the fan favorite events, Verizon Copa Alianza, impressed viewers after reaching the grand final with a matchup between the only two undefeated teams. Nacional won the title after beating Chi City 2-1, in what was an intense match from start to finish.

For its part, Morelia was crowned in the exclusive tournament for women, TUDN Alianza Femenil. The well-deserved champions did not lose any of the 5 games they played and lifted the trophy after defeating Midwest Panthers 1-0.

For Ford Copita Alianza there was also great emotion and talent in each of its categories. Here are the teams that dressed in glory this weekend:

Gio’s Lions Sc defeated Moroleón FC 5-2 in the U7 final, Dep 59 beated Gladiadores 3-0 in the U9; in the U11 final San Antonio Raiders A defeated Dep 59 2-0, SB, Lions did the same against FC 34 by winning 5-3 in the U13 category and Futboleros kept the glory against Real Azteca, by defeating them 5-1 in the U15.

At the same time, Dep Juniors was crowned in the U17 and U19 categories after winning 2-1 against Chicago Blues FC and 3-2 against FC Jalisco, respectively. Wonderful soccer was experienced during the most important tournament for Hispanic children and youth in the country.

Alianza 5v5,  the lightning tournament of the competition was present with great matches, and a final that determinate the last instance, worthy of the suspense which the entire contest experienced.

Here are the champions by category:

- U8: Cadence (5-2)

- U10: San Antonio Raiders (11-2)

- U12: Polanco FC (4-2)

- U14: Polanco (6-4)

- U16: La Puerta (tied at 1-1 in reg.time, 5-4 on penalties)

- U18: Para's Minions (3-1)

Allstate Sueño Alianza, held in Chicago the third best record of the season, 400 talented futbol players, showed their skills in front of scouts from Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew and Pachuca FC, as well as US Soccer itself.

At the end of the various matches against the Illinois Elite and Indiana Hammond, 8 players were invited by the professional teams to appear directly at their clubs, and 3 were selected to participate in the Allstate Sueño Alianza National Showcase, the annual event where the most highlights show their talent before more than 25 viewers from different professional teams from Mexico, the United States and Europe. A unique opportunity for those who dream of reaching the top football circuit.

Alianza de Futbol will resume activity from August 6 to 7 in New York for the sixth stop of the tour.
