In 2012, a young player from San Luis Obispo, California showed up at a Sueño Alianza tryout with one simple dream—to become a professional soccer player. He didn’t make the cut that year. But he came back in 2013, reached the National Finals, and everything changed.
Now, more than a decade later, Jesús Vázquez returns to Alianza de Futbol as the new Scouting Program Manager for the Allstate Sueño Alianza tryouts.
After his breakthrough with Alianza, Jesús went on to play professionally for clubs including Tigres UANL, Santos Laguna, Atlante FC, LA Galaxy, RGV Toros, and Indy Eleven. He captained both LA Galaxy II and RGV Toros, made over 150 professional appearances, and represented the U.S. Men’s National Team at the U-20 level.
In 2023, he began working as an Official Scout for the Mexican National Youth Teams, and now returns to lead the very program that launched his career.
“This is a full-circle moment for me,” says Jesús. “Alianza changed my life. Now I want to help the next generation be seen, be supported, and chase their dreams too.”
With his journey as living proof, Jesús is ready to shape the future of young Hispanic players across the country—just like he once was.
