This year is a very special one for Alianza de Futbol – we're turning 20! Over the years we've spent a lot of time talking about the tour and registration (we still will!), but in honor of our special anniversary we'd like to share more about our Alianzos community through stories and accomplishments.

Our journey starts with a quick look back at our history and the unveiling of several new initiatives for our community, whether you join our experiences in person or from the comfort of your home. As we continue over the next few weeks, we'll share more about the history of Alianza, including an interview with the founders and a timeline of key moments across our first two decades.

Looking back at 2004 

What a journey through time! 2004 was epic for soccer, full of moments that still make us say, wow! Who could forget Greece winning the Euros against all odds or Brazil's victory in the Copa América after a penalty shootout that had us all on the edge of our seats. Not to mention Jose Mourinho's FC Porto lifting the UEFA Champions League trophy or Ronaldinho being crowned FIFA Player of the Year for the first time.

That same year, a certain Lionel Messi began to make headlines at FC Barcelona, ushering in an era revolutionizing the soccer world.

However, here in the U.S., an idea was brewing that would soon become the heart of the Hispanic soccer-loving and soccer-playing community: an adult tournament in Dallas marking the beginning of Alianza de Futbol.

Alianza’s evolution through the years

Alianza de Futbol is a meeting point to feel, connect, and share dreams on and off the field. Since its inception two decades ago, the ball has been passed everywhere from Los Angeles to New York, but always with that same passion that unites us all. And to think – it all started with a single tournament in Dallas. 19 years later, seeing all we’ve achieved makes us appreciate and recognize all the players, families, coaches, and staff who played a significant role in making Alianza what it is today.

Speaking of 2008, we took a giant leap launching Sueño Alianza with a goal to discover future soccer stars. What about Jonathan González in 2013? He participated in Sueño Alianza and went on to make his professional debut in 2017 before becoming the first Mexican-American in history to wear the Mexican National Team jersey.

And let's not forget about Copita Alianza which, since 2009, has continued to grow by adding youth and women's categories – reflecting the boom in women's soccer in the U.S. and the emerging talent that continues to inspire us.

It's impossible to talk about the success of Alianza without mentioning our local managers – the essential figures of our organization who are fundamental in keeping the passion for soccer alive in each of their communities.

New additions to the Alianza brand in 2024

Alianza de Futbol has grown tremendously, but we’re not stopping here. We have a lot of great things planned for 2024 as we honor and celebrate two decades of accomplishments and wonderful memories.

We’ve talked with so many of you about wanting to stay connected to Alianza throughout the year. In 2024, we’re diligently working on new ways to make this possible. Expect practical solutions to enhance your preparation, refine your skills, and support your overall wellness – all conveniently accessible from your computer or mobile phone.

Commemorative Apparel and Merchandise

We're expanding our line of commemorative apparel and merchandise, allowing fans and participants to carry a piece of Alianza's legacy with them. From limited edition jerseys to exclusive accessories, each item has been crafted to celebrate our 20-year journey and the spirit of unity that defines us.

New Participant Takeaways

Participants in this year's events can look forward to a range of special takeaways that go beyond the usual. Expect to receive unique uniforms, custom-designed trophies, and medals, along with high-quality soccer balls, souvenir photos, and more, all designed to commemorate this landmark year.

Interactive Experiences

Our sponsor village is getting an upgrade with immersive and interactive experiences that celebrate Hispanic soccer culture. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities that bring the essence of Alianza to life, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Launching of Alianzos

To keep our community connected and informed, we're launching a new Alianza de Futbol email newsletter, called Alianzos. This platform will offer in-depth insights into the anniversary celebrations, feature stories from our community, and provide updates on all the exciting developments throughout the year.
