Delfines, Verizon Copa Alianza 2022 champions

The Alianza de Futbol National Finals brought together each stage champion of the 2022 tour to decide the new great champion.

As part of this week of celebrations in Phoenix, Delfines took the top spot at the podium after a wonderful 2022 Tour, where several records were broken.

Verizon Copa Alianza, in its National Finals, gathered twelve teams, which enrolled a total of 264 players, who played intensely every single minute to win the national champions title.

The new champion achieved their first title in the Verizon Copa Alianza history, as they had not been crowned in any of the prior editions, since 2017.

Delfines team inherits a throne previously occupied by Hooligans in 2017, San Nicolás in 2018 and 2019, as well as Mesoamerica in 2021. In 2020, the Verizon Copa Alianza was not played due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Verizon Copa Alianza gave a 40,000 dollars prize to Delfines for their championship and a 10,000 dollars prize was given to Chiriacos for the runners-up.

Verizon Copa Alianza final stage has also served as a preamble to the Allstate Sueño Alianza National Showcase, in which 64 young players will have the opportunity to show their soccer skills in front of more than 30 scouts from College, Liga MX, MLS, Mexican National Team and US Soccer, in Bell Bank Park facilities at Phoenix, Arizona.

A team of prestigious scouts from the Mexican and U.S. soccer federations, in coordination with Rafael Calderón, director of scouting and coaching in For Soccer Ventures, will lead the training sessions given to the 64 promising young players, 16 of whom are women, before the scarf ceremony, which will be honored with the presence of Mexican soccer legend Enrique Borja as master of ceremonies.

Many young soccer players will try to emulate what has been achieved by: Santiago Muñoz from El Paso, Texas, who currently plays for Newcastle United in England; Nico Carrera, from Frisco, Texas, who currently plays for Holstein Kiel in Germany; Jonathan Gonzalez, from Santa Rosa, California, who currently plays for MLS's Minnesota United; Jazmy Guerrero, Amalia López, Julie López, Jaida Arizmendi and Elliana Ramírez all Pachuca players of the Liga MX Femenil.
